Why do I write this blog?
Figuring out the world has been a hobby of mine since I was a teenager. Back then I had ambitions of being a politician who was actually a policy wonk. I interned in Congress and city hall, volunteered on political campaigns, attended the most prestigious schools, ran student political clubs, and had dinners with notable political figures. Eventually I tired of how broken the system was, took up programming and ended up in the tech startup world. I kept reading both mainstream and obscure books during my spare time. My views became more and more estranged from conventional wisdom. I decided to start this blog to share my findings and to grow the community of people who explore beyond the default narratives.
